A practicing family physician since 1994, I now practice part-time family medicine with my wife (a family nurse practitioner) as a part of Baptist Health Floyd in Corydon, Indiana. I also serve as Medical Director of Informatics as well as Statewide medical Director of quality for a large hospital system in Kentucky and Indiana. Along with my wife Gena, we strive to provide small town primary care medicine with a scientific and guideline focus on lifestyle changes and prevention. We also attempt to “practice what we preach”. We are active in CrossFit, RV traveling, and adapting to the empty nest that our children have left us. With one having finished grad school and the other recently out of college, we are enjoying them as adults.

The writings you may see here are not filtered. They are not written to be politically correct. They are, as the title says, middle age musings. They stem from my small-town West Tennessee background through my urban medical training back to a small Indiana town for a professional career. Some posts are written hurriedly and are a response to an issue that has touched me. Others are more thought out. Some are very superficial, mindless, and silly. Some are the spout of deep values and core beliefs. Some are simply ideas written about something I enjoy. If something touches you, feel free to share it. My opinions are just that…opinions.
